Catherine Mayle elected employee representative for WVUH board

Catherine Mayle has been elected employee representative for the West Virginia University Hospitals board of directors.

Mayle, a house supervisor who has been with WVUH for 17 years, will serve a two-year term, starting Aug. 1. She succeeds Mark Smith.

The board has 17 members. The responsibilities and duties of the role include:

• Understanding and demonstrating a commitment to the corporation's mission.
• Keeping up to date with issues and trends that affect the organization.
• Contributing skills and knowledge by participating actively in board and committee meetings.
• Ensuring the corporation is complying with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Along with Mayle, nominees were Trent Wable and Jerome Kerwin.
