Crane will cause temporary sidewalk closure behind hospital

Part of the sidewalk behind J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, near the outdoor section of the Market@WVU (Health Sciences Center) will be closed Thursday, Sept. 28, to make room for a crane that will be used to install steel for a new air handling unit project on the roof of 6 North.

Work is scheduled to begin around 7 a.m. and end around 5 p.m.

Detour signs for pedestrian traffic will be placed to direct foot traffic through the hospital’s loading dock entrance, down the hall on the fourth floor, and back out onto the sidewalk near the Environmental Services offices.

The doors leading to the sidewalk behind the Security and Dispatch offices will be locked.
