Dental insurance coverage will include services at WVU student, resident dental clinics

WVU Medicine employees who purchased dental coverage through United Concordia will be eligible for services in the WVU School of Dentistry student and resident dental clinics starting Jan. 1, 2017.

In the student clinics, comprehensive dental services are provided under the direct supervision of experienced faculty.

In the resident clinics, general and specialty services are provided by practitioners who are seeking advanced education as general dentists or in specialties, such as endodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics, periodontics, and prosthodontics.

Since fee schedules in both clinics are already reduced, the United Concordia agreement will allow covered members to maximize the number of services possible within their benefit plan. Participants should always refer to their list of covered services for specifics about what is covered.

The WVU Dental Faculty Practice Clinics will continue to be non-participating providers.

For more information, contact the WVU School of Dentistry student clinics at 304-293-6208 or the resident clinics at 304-293-5831.
