First American to hold APEC position
In keeping with the mantra that Mountaineers go first, a WVU School of Dentistry faculty member has become the first American to hold the top position with an international endodontic association.
Dr. Samuel Dorn, Chair of the Department of Endodontics at the dental school, is the President-elect for the Asian-Pacific Endodontic Confederation (APEC).
A long-time member of the confederation, Dorn was elected to the position on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the APEC general membership meeting.
Dorn earned his Bachelor of Arts from Queens College (C.U.N.Y.). He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry and continued his education at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, NY where he completed an endodontics residency. He was also a Captain in the Dental Corps of the U.S. Air Force at Bolling AFB in Washington DC.
Published for countless studies, reports and research, Dorn will serve on the APEC’s executive committee for a term that ends in 2023.
