Employee engagement survey results being reviewed, action plans being developed
This summer, WVU Medicine conducted its first system-wide employee engagement survey. Seventy-eight percent of eligible employees – 12,075 of 15,404 – at all eight WVU Medicine hospitals participated.
The survey, conducted by Press Ganey, gave employees the opportunity to share their opinions about working here – what’s working well and areas of opportunity.
“We would like to thank employees for taking the survey – the number of participants exceeded our expectations,” said WVU Medicine Chief Human Resources Officer Leeann Cerimele. “Your feedback will help strengthen the organization and shape our future. It will help us become a better place for employees to work, physicians to practice medicine, and patients to receive care.”
System leaders are currently reviewing the survey results and identifying priorities. Hospital leaders will receive survey results in November.
“There will be three tiers to this process,” Cerimele said. “We will be identifying areas of opportunity for the system, at each hospital, and in each department. We take these results seriously and believe they will drive positive change and help us continue to build an engaged, patient-centered culture.”
Results will be shared with employees in November and December. And action plans – how the organization will move forward with the results – will be finalized in early 2019. Employees will be part of that conversation.
