Immunology and Medical Microbiology students win awards at Autumn Immunology Conference

Two junior undergraduate students from the Immunology and Medical Microbiology program recently received awards at the 45th Annual Autumn Immunology Conference held on November 18 - 21 in Chicago.

Kensey Bergdorf was awarded the American Association of Immunologists (AAI) Undergraduate Award for best abstract titled, "Inhibition of glioblastoma multiforme tumors following exposure to N-(3, 4-dichlorophenyl)-N-methylpropanamide (NMeDCPA)," authored by Bergdorf and John Barnett, Ph.D. 

John Nowery took home the Trends in Immunology Award for best undergraduate poster presentation titled, "Nitric Oxide Stimulates JAK1-dependent Inflammatory Gene Expression in Primary Astrocytes," authored by Nowery and Gordon Meares, Ph.D.
