Information Technology introduces two-factor authentication protection to boost security

WVU Medicine Information Technology is adopting a two-factor authentication process for all employees, providers, and contractors that access our WVU Medicine Network remotely.

In addition to providing a password to use the WVU Medicine Network remotely, users will be required to use a two-factor app on their phone or a one-time verification code that is sent via text message to their phone.

Additional communications about the new process will be sent via email directly to WVU Medicine employees, providers, and contractors that access the WVU Medicine Network remotely. Also, the following guides are available as printable PDFs:

Two-Factor Enrollment (detailed guidelines)

Two-Factor Enrollment (quick instructions)

Two-Factor Enrollment (FAQ)

These guides describe the process to register your phone to receive push or text messages.

The enrollment process will begin April 17 and end May 21. Any employee, provider, or contractor who does not enroll by May 21 will no longer have remote access to the WVU Medicine Network.

Please contact Tareva Palmer or Kim SanJulian with any questions related to remote two-factor implementation.
