Raffle underway; proceeds benefit WVU Medicine United Way campaign

"Invest In Your Community" – that’s the theme of this year’s United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties’ community campaign.

This year’s United Way campaign goal is $1,345,000. Money raised will provide support for 46 programs at 24 local health and human service agencies that focus on the building blocks for a better life for all: health, education, and financial stability.

Over the years, WVU Medicine and its employees have contributed more than $2.2 million to the United Way of Monongalia and Preston counties. This year's goal is $180,000.

Contributions will help ensure that the United Way continues to have the resources it needs to make a difference in the lives of those in our community. The easiest way to make a donation is through the online ePledge system.

Employees also have the option of completing a WVU Medicine United Way pledge card. It can be sent to Becky Wright through campus mail.

A raffle is underway with all proceeds benefiting the WVU Medicine United Way campaign. The raffle will run until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17. Prizes include an Amazon Echo, Amazon Dot, Amazon gift card, Fitbit Inspire, TV, Kate Spade satchel -- and more. Learn more about the raffle and buy a ticket.

A United Way campaign wrap-up event will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the third-floor atrium at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. Employees can make a donation, participate in the raffle, and buy a $1 hot chocolate. Learn more.

On that same day (Dec. 17), there's a special United Way fundraiser happening at Primanti Brothers at Suncrest Towne Centre in Morgantown. If you dine at the restaurant that day (lunch or dinner), just mention the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties, and 20 percent of your meal's price will be donated to the United Way.
