Joint Commission to return for re-survey this month
The deadline for a Joint Commission re-survey of WVU Medicine-WVU Hospitals may go beyond the original 45-day window, according to Aaron Kocsis, RN, regulatory coordinator with WVU Medicine’s Center for Quality Outcomes. The visit was originally scheduled to occur between Aug. 13 and Aug. 27 to determine if Condition Level Deficiencies identified in the July survey have been corrected.
The visit was originally scheduled to occur between Aug. 13 and Aug. 27 to determine if Condition Level Deficiencies identified in the July survey have been corrected.
WVU Medicine was given 30 days to implement corrective action linked to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standards, the typical time frame of the organization.
The survey team will include one clinician and one building engineer, who will arrive on two separate days and each stay for one day.
Accreditation will depend on compliance with the Joint Commission’s final recommendations.
