MCHD hiring multiple contract tracing positions
The Monongalia County Health Department is currently seeking applications for the following positions:
- Two COVID-19 Case Investigators,
- Ten additional positions in disease investigation and contact tracing.
Training: No experience is necessary, however, note that applicants (including undergraduate and graduate students) majoring or with a degree in public health or with contact tracing experience may be given preference in appointment. These are non-benefit eligible 1,000-hour positions.
Job Descriptions:
Case Investigators
- assists organization of CDC employees, nursing students and others involved with COVID;
- report directly to lead COVID nurse;
- assists in identification of outbreaks and input accurate data;
- assists in coordination of outbreak response; and
- attends training and meetings pertinent to public health.
Disease Investigation and Contact Tracers
- quickly locate and speak with patients;
- provide accurate and reliable patient information;
- assist in arranging for patients to isolate themselves;
- work with patients to identify people with whom patients have been in close contact so contact tracer can locate them; and
- provide health education and guidance to interrupt ongoing disease transmission, and report to lead COVID nurse.
