New consult service for addiction, substance misuse patients available

A new consult service is available to provide an array of specialty services to patients at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital who suffer from issues related to addiction and substance misuse.

The Psychiatry Substance Use Disorder (SUD) consult service is a multidisciplinary team that takes an evidence-based approach to diagnosing and treating substance use disorders and identifies biopsychosocial considerations for therapeutic management. The team consists of a physician, advanced practice providers, and licensed therapists.

The service is listed in the on-call directory under the department name "Psychiatry SUD". To place  a consult order, page the service at 1690. The service is available between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.; after hours, please page 0528 for acute or emergent needs.
