Panhandle senior network hosts resource fair

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – Panhandle Senior Networking, a group of senior professionals representing a variety of programs and services focused on improving the lives of seniors, is hosting a resource fair for seniors on May 9.

The senior resource fair will be held from 8:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the Berkeley Senior Center, 217 N. High Street in Martinsburg. The goal of the event is to bring awareness to several issues affecting seniors, and to educate them on the broad range of programs and services available for seniors.

The morning starts with light refreshments and the vendor fair. Presentations will start at 9 a.m. and include the following:

  • 9 a.m. – “Making Your Wishes Known”, Rebecca Dehaven, L.S.W., M.S.W., CHP-SW, Hospice of the Panhandle
  • 9:45 a.m. - “Don’t Fall Victim to a Scam: How to Protect Yourself”, Elizabeth Grant, Assistant Attorney General, WV Attorney General’s Office
  • 10:45 a.m. – “How to Manage Your Medications”, Joseph P. Fama, Pharm.D., WVU Medicine

Vendor exhibits include a variety of topics pertinent to seniors such as home healthcare, healthcare placement, hospice, legal aid, Alzheimer’s Association and much more. Door prizes will be given throughout the event, which is free and open to all.
