Polar Plunge
Event Location: Crab Shack Caribba at Cheat Lake Marina
The 2020 Morgantown Polar Plunge, which supports the West Virginia Special Olympics, is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Crab Shack Caribba at Cheat Lake Marina. WVU Medicine is a sponsor.
Participants who register for the event will collect donations from family and friends in the weeks leading up to the event. At the event, they'll plunge into Cheat Lake. Many will be dressed in creative costumes.The event theme: "Freezin' for a Reason."

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
