Mountaineer proud ... and pink

WVU football fans are passionate about their team. On Saturday, Oct. 22, they proved they were also passionate about breast cancer awareness.

The Mountaineers hosted TCU in the second annual Pink Game this past Saturday and fans flocked to a table outside Milan Puskar Stadium where they could get a special t-shirt for a $10 donation. Fans donated more than $4,300 to the Cancer Institute for breast cancer education and research.

During the game, breast cancer survivors were joined by the multidisciplinary team of providers that comprises the Cancer Institute's Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program for special recognition.

Mountaineer fans are encouraged to text financial support for breast cancer education and research at the Cancer Institute any time, not just during breast cancer awareness month in October. Simply Text WVUCares to 41444.

The football game capped off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which WVU Medicine celebrated with a variety of activities.
