Relay for Life plans taking shape

A meeting for Monongalia County Relay for Life team captains will be held Monday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the American Cancer Society (ACS) Building, located at 122 South High Street, Morgantown.

If you can't make it, please send a representative. The meeting is being held to ensure teams are ready for campsite setup and event activities. Please bring any team and survivor registrations and ACS Cancer Action Network forms, along with any money that needs turned in (account sheets required). You can also pick up any earned Relay for Life T-shirts (each $100 raised = one T-shirt).

The WVU Cancer Institute and WBOY are the presenting sponsors of this year's Monongalia County Relay for Life. The event will take place Friday and Saturday, June 9-10, at Westwood Middle School in Morgantown.

Also, WVU Cancer Institute Director Richard Goldberg, MD, and Hannah Hazard-Jenkins, MD, are planning a “white coat lap” Friday, June 9, at 7 p.m. Faculty and members of the medical team who own a white coat are encouraged to participate. Please email Donna Tamasco if you are interested in participating.

According to WVU Medicine team ambassador David Staten, there are 18 registered WVU Medicine/WVU Cancer Institute teams and members have raised more than $6,000.
