Reynolds Memorial Hospital celebrates two years with WVU Medicine

GLEN DALE, W.Va. – In the two years since Reynolds Memorial Hospital joined WVU Medicine, the Ohio Valley hospital has seen incredible growth and change.

“WVU Medicine is committed to bringing services and physicians to the community so you can stay close to home,” David Hess, M.D., president and CEO of Reynolds Memorial, said. “Our focus is on high quality physicians with a strong bedside manner. Reynolds has always emphasized a close relationship between patients and providers, and that hasn’t changed with the addition of WVU Medicine. Our new providers listen to patients and connect with them on a personal level.”

Among the many new services now offered at Reynolds is the WVU Cancer Institute. The brand new facility, located next to the hospital, allows patients to get WVU Medicine quality care close to home. Nabiel AlKhouri, M.D., oncologist, provides care to patients in the 3,606 square-foot clinic that includes two exam rooms, seven infusion rooms, and an American Cancer Society Resource Center.

Working with the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute to provide advanced cardiovascular care to the Ohio Valley, Reynolds invested $2 million in renovations and new equipment to their cardiovascular lab.

The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute also opened a new office in Glen Dale.

It has been a period of growth for the hospital. The orthopedics clinic, which opened last year, includes Michael Myers, D.O. and John Michalski, M.D., premier sports medicine and orthopedic surgeons. This year, Raymond Hinerman, M.D., otolaryngologist (ears, nose, and throat specialist), Hugo Andreini, M.D., urologist, and Nicole Carlson, M.D., board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, have all started new practices at Reynolds.

Reynolds has also worked to bolster primary care services, adding Jamie Etzel, D.O., Chad Richmond, D.O., Andrew Schmitt, M.D., and Katie Inclan, PA-C. Earlier this year, Reynolds launched a new electronic medical record system, EPIC, to keep you connected with your doctor and to all WVU Medicine system hospitals.

In addition to primary and specialty care, Reynolds added Chris O’Neal, D.O., board-certified emergency physician and medical director of the Reynolds Memorial Emergency Department, and Matthew Watkins, D.O., anesthesiologist and chief of anesthesia at Reynolds Memorial.
