Smith elected employee representative for WVUH board

Kevin “Mark” Smith, Jr., has been elected employee representative for the West Virginia University Hospitals board of directors.

Smith, a house supervisor who has been with WVUH for seven years, will serve a two-year term, starting Aug. 1. He succeeds Charles Wisilosky.

The board has 17 members. The responsibilties and duties of Smith's role include:

  •     Understanding and demonstrating a commitment to the corporation's mission.
  •     Keeping up to date with issues and trends that affect the organization.
  •     Contributing skills and knowledge by participating actively in board and committee meetings.
  •     Ensuring the corporation is complying with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Along with Smith, nominees were Sarah Belch and Jaime Billotti.
