The Force is strong in this one: Photo gallery available from WV Black Bears game sponsored by WVU Medicine Children’s

Larkin Coker, Children’s Miracle Network Ambassador for WVU Medicine Children’s, and Patrick Tomboc, DO, threw out the ceremonial first pitches at the West Virginia Black Bears game July 28 at Monongalia County Ballpark.

Dr. Tomboc, a hematology/oncology specialist, was an integral part of the team caring for Larkin during her treatment.

The game was also a "Star Wars Night," so jedis, storm troopers and Han Solo and Chewbacca stopped by at the ball park. Princess Leia took a break from leading the Resistance to sing the national anthem. To see a CONNECT photo gallery from the game, click here.

During the game, there was a Star Wars jersey auction to benefit WVU Medicine Children’s. Representatives from WVU Medicine Children’s were on hand to greet fans and speak with them about services before and during the game. Also, an ambulance was parked outside the Kids Zone and the WVU Medicine Children’s Transport Team offered ambulance tours to attendees.
