The Wellness Center to host free relaxation Workshop With Kara Combs, MPH, CHES

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Wellness Center at WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center will be offering a free workshop, “Clear Your Mind: Intro to Conscious Relaxation,” with Kara Combs, M.P.H., C.H.E.S.

The workshop will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 in Meeting Room 2, which is located across from the cafeteria on the first floor of Berkeley Medical Center.

“The purpose of the workshop is to present practical information to help you learn to cope with stress to have a positive impact on your health and well-being,” said Dana DeJarnett, health promotion specialist for The Wellness Center.

Combs added, “Everyone has some source of stress in their lives. The idea is not to remove it but to reframe it or find a way to better manage it. Often, we are not taught these skills. This will help learn ways to cope with stress and teach the skills needed to practice daily conscious relaxation.”

Programs are free and open to all. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. For more information, call 304-264-1287, ext. 31814 or email ddejarnett@wvumedicine.org.
