The Wright Stuff: Engagement survey feedback will make us better, stronger

A message to the WVU Medicine family

Today is the first day of our Press Ganey employee engagement survey – and it’s a significant event for WVU Medicine.

Some WVU Medicine hospitals have conducted a similar survey in the past. But now, for the first time, we will be hearing the collective voice of WVU Medicine employees system-wide. Sometime today, you will be receiving a survey link from Press Ganey, and if you have any questions about the survey process, this webpage is a great resource.

Why is this so important?

It is an opportunity for employees to voice their opinion about changes they think would make their work life or work environment better. Your feedback will allow us to assess what’s most important to you and develop action plans based on your input.

We know that engaged employees stay with the organization longer and have a stake in the way the entire organization is run. An engaged workforce also ultimately benefits our patients, which is always our No. 1 priority. That’s why I always strongly encourage every employee to complete the survey. You have until Saturday, Aug. 4, to participate.

Listening to employees is an essential part of a strong organization, and I feel we do a good job of it at WVU Medicine.

I enjoy hearing your opinions, whether they’re informally or formally expressed. But the survey is the best opportunity for leadership to hear your feedback. Your input will drive change within the organization that will make us better and stronger, and help us continue to build an engaged, patient-centered culture.
