Three Immunology and Medical Microbiology students awarded 2016 WVU SURE fellowships

Abby Harold, Kensey Bergdorf, and Matthew Epperly were awarded competitive SURE (Summer Undergraduate Research Experience) fellowships for the summer of 2016.  Abby, a rising senior, will be working in the laboratory of Dr. Ivan Martinez studying the role of microRNAs in human papillomavirus infection.  Kensey, a rising junior, will be working with Dr. John Barnett studying the effects of therapeutic compounds on the growth of glioblastoma cells. Matt, a rising senior, will be working with Dr. Mariette Barbier on host-pathogen interactions in Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections.
