Tuesday is the last day to vote for the employee rep on the WVUH board of directors

Nominations for the employee representative on the WVU Hospitals' board of directors were recently accepted, and the employees who received the most nominations are: Catherine Mayle, Jerome Kerwin, and Michael Trent Wable.

Employees can cast their vote for the candidates now through Tuesday, July 24.

The employee who receives the most votes will serve a two-year term on the board of directors starting Aug. 1.

WVUH has a 17-member board, and one member is a hospital employee who is elected by staff. Mark Smith is the current employee representative on the board.

The responsibilities and duties of the role include:

• Understanding and demonstrating a commitment to the corporation's mission.
• Keeping up to date with issues and trends that affect the organization.
• Contributing skills and knowledge by participating actively in board and committee meetings.
• Ensuring the corporation is complying with all legal and regulatory requirements.
