Workers' Memorial Day event planned

Please join West Virginia University’s School of Public Health in honoring those who have lost their lives or loved ones to work-related deaths. The Department of Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences will host a commemorative lecture on coal worker’s pneumoconiosis at the Erickson Alumni Center on April 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Workers’ Memorial Day. WVU School of Medicine professor and former NIOSH researcher Dr. Edward L. Petsonk will present the lecture. Additionally, there will be a reading of the names of West Virginians who lost their lives at work in 2014 and 2015. Representatives from the United Mine Workers and United Steel Workers will also participate in a panel discussion after the lecture.

Light refreshments will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.
