WVU ASHP-SSHP chapter receives recognition

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia University School of Pharmacy chapter of the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP) has been recognized by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) for 2012-2013.

ASHP-SSHP student organizations representing hospital and health-system practice receive ASHP recognition by meeting specific criteria that includes promotion of membership in local, state and national health-system organizations; development of activities that stimulate interest in health-system pharmacy careers; and completion of professional development project(s) to encourage the career and professional development of student pharmacists who want to pursue careers in health-system pharmacy.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the national body in pharmacy that helps to advance health-systems pharmacy practice in our country. We are very grateful here at the WVU School of Pharmacy chapter to be backed by ASHP,” Ryan Fell, president of the WVU ASHP-SSHP chapter, said. “This official recognition of the WVU chapter reinforces the relationship between the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the ASHP state affiliate organization and the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists.”
