WVU Medicine employee raises awareness about Rett Syndrome

Rett Syndrome is a condition close to the heart of WVU Medicine Patient Financial Services employee Donna Corley. Her granddaughter has Rett Syndrome, a unique developmental disorder that is first recognized in infancy and seen almost always in girls.

Corley serves as a regional representative for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, which funds research for treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome while enhancing the overall quality of life for those living with Rett Syndrome by providing information, programs and services. WVU Medicine child neurology specialists treat patients with Rett Syndrome.

October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month. View the proclamation from West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin. For more information or to donate to the foundation, visit http://www.rettsyndrome.org/home.
