WVU Medicine, Rotary sponsor health fair

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – WVU Medicine, the Martinsburg Noon Rotary Club and The Wellness Center at Berkeley Medical Center are sponsoring the 34th annual Community Wellness Screening on April 13 from 6-10 a.m. at the Dorothy McCormack Center on the Berkeley Medical Center campus.

The screening and health fair are open to the public. Individuals must be 12 years or older to participate. The Community Wellness Screening includes a $40 discounted rate for the comprehensive metabolic panel that includes CBC and full lipid profile and $35 for a PSA blood test (men only).

New screenings added this year include Vitamin D screening for $20, Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c, average blood sugar levels) for $10, Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) for $15, and a FIT Kit take home test kit for colorectal cancer screening for $25. Blood pressure checks, BMI and body fat testing, and a fall risk assessment are also offered at the event for free.

Pre-registration and accompanying payment is required to participate in this event. Screening is limited to the first 500 participants. The registration deadline is April 5. Forms are available at The Wellness Center front desk or you can call 304-264-1232 to have one mailed to you. Appointment preference will be granted based on the order that registration forms are received.

This year, test results will be available on MyWVUChart, a free, easy and secure way to view your health information and communicate with your healthcare team. All you need is Internet access and email. To sign up, visit www.MyWVUChart.com.
