WVU Radiology residents ace ABR core exam

WVU’s Department of Radiology residents passed the American Board of Radiology (ABR) Core exam with flying colors. In 2014, the program average score of 482 was comfortably above the national average of 470 by 12 points, but this year residents went above and beyond with the WVU program average of 513, scoring far above the national average of 449.

"This is a very high stakes exam that is the initial part of achieving ABR Board Certification," said Jeffery P. Hogg, M.D., professor of radiology and residency program director. "It is taken late in the third year of the four-year training cycle.

“I just want to share with anybody who wishes to listen how very proud I am of the residents in the WVU Radiology Residency program,” Dr. Hogg added. “The excellent and rising scores for the trainees in the WVU program are a testament not only to the talent and tenacity of the residents, but also to the dedication of the faculty and staff in the department of radiology at WVU, all of whom work very hard to produce these superb results.”
