WVU ready to rock MountaineerTHON for WVU Medicine Children's

Hundreds of current and former West Virginia University students are resting up before they bust a move for a great cause at this weekend's MountaineerTHON. This year's event marks WVU's 17th year of providing emotional and financial support WVU Medicine Children's patients through dance marathon events.

From noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, WVU students and alumni dance, enjoy games and activities, and hear the inspiring stories of WVU Medicine Children’s patients - without any sleep or standing for the entirety of the event. Participants raise money through pledges from their family and friends and through additional donations through other fundraising events. Community partners cover the cost of hosting MountaineerTHON, which enables all the money raised by the participants to directly benefit WVU Medicine Children’s patients. In addition, companies like Covelli Enterprises, operators of West Virginia's Panera Bread locations, donate prizes and food for attendees.

Dancers will be treated to music provided by DJ Dollar, familiar to WVU basketball fans as pre-game entertainment at home games. To learn more about MountaineerTHON, visit mountaineerthon.com.
