Photoreceptor neuron specific alternative splicing of messenger RNA

The proposed research will yield the mechanisms by which Musashi proteins control protein function and expression in photoreceptors and link these mechanisms to specific phenotypes. We will generate transcriptome wide datasets that will be of utility to the broad field of vision research and support further investigations into translational control and RNA interference in the retina.
