Graduate Education at the Health Sciences Center

Graduate education is a major focus of the educational mission of the Schools within the Health Science Center. For the student, it represents not only learning a new body of knowledge but also learning the skills to conduct research to acquire new knowledge to benefit future generations. The breadth of opportunity is large with programs at the certificate, masters, and Ph.D. level. Within this breadth is a common thread that focuses on providing the highest quality of training and helping each student achieve their career goals.

If you are a prospective student, click through the navigation to find the program of interest to you. Check out the Graduate Student Organizations to see some of the ways that you can be more involved at WVU. Learn about the opportunities to share your research with other graduate students and faculty via the Research Days that are both Health Sciences Center-wide and specific to certain schools.

For our current students, the links will take you to policies and forms that apply to all graduate students in the programs at the Health Sciences Center. Check the offerings by both graduate student organizations and the Graduate Academy to find ways to better prepare yourself for your future career. Graduateeducation.wvu.edu is where you can find the graduate catalog that contains information that applies to all graduate students at WVU as well as additional services that are provided to you by the Office of Graduate Education and Life.

For faculty, within the faculty link, you will find information on obtaining graduate faculty status, activating your mix account, developing new graduate programs, and preparing reviews of your graduate program. This site also contains the agenda and minutes for the Health Sciences Graduate Council and the charter and membership of the Graduate Program Committee on Academic and Professional standards.
