WVU Health Sciences will celebrate Valerie Lemasters’ 49-plus years of service at a retirement open house Monday, Dec. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. The celebration will be held in the lobby of the Office of Research and Graduate Education, located on the ground floor of the Erma Byrd Biomedical Research Center.

After an impactful career at the university, Lemasters is ready to begin her retirement. Lemasters most recently served the university as senior director for research and graduate education.

Her service at Health Sciences began in 1971. During her tenure, Lemasters made major contributions to Health Sciences’ research infrastructure, including the creation and management of a centralized pre- and post-award unit at the Health Sciences Center, along with building an HSC-wide pre- and post-award staff network.

The university community is invited to attend the open house to honor Lemasters and her work.
