The WVU Core Genomics Facility is a not-for-profit facility available to all researchers at West Virginia University, funded in part by an NIH COBRE Grant to the WVU Center for Neuroscience. Additional funding is provided by the Department of Biology, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the WVU Health Sciences Center. The facility performs and runs sequencing reactions and fragment analysis on an Illumina MiSeq and an ABI model 3130XL genetic analyzer, as well as microarray analysis using the Affymetrix GeneChip system. We also have equipment available for self-service use.

Sequencing drop off at HSC

Sequencing samples to be analyzed by the Genomics Core Facility located on the downtown campus may now be dropped off at the Biochemistry Protein Core. This service is offered as a convenience to HSC investigators who may not wish to make the trip to the downtown campus to deliver their samples. Samples may be placed in the freezer located in the Protein Core before 11:00 on Mondays for analysis normally conducted on Tuesdays. Please contact Tricia Lewis in the Protein Core for more details about drop-off. For expedited sequencing, you may still bring samples any time during the week directly to the Genomics Core, or call Ryan Percifield, Manager, Genomics Core Facility, to arrange special pick-up. Ryan's # is (304) 293-4542.
