WVU School of Pharmacy partners to present lecture series “Opioid Reduction Act: What You Need to Know.”
The West Virginia University School of Pharmacy in conjunction with Marshall Health, West Virginia Bureau of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Behavioral Health, West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and West Virginia University School of Public Health is presenting a series of lectures titled “Opioid Reduction Act: What You Need to Know.”
The knowledge-based lecture-format activity is designed for dentists, nurse practitioners, optometrists, pharmacists, physicians, physician assistants, podiatrists, and veterinarians in all practice settings at no charge and will focus on the opioid reduction act.
The lectures are intended to train health care providers to understand the days’ supply limitations for prescribing Schedule II opioids in West Virginia, identify the documentation requirements when prescribing Schedule II opioids in the state, and to discuss a prescriber’s responsibilities to recommend alternatives other than Schedule II opioids to treat pain.
