Health Resources and Services Administration
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), provides health care to people who are geographically isolated, and/or economically or medically vulnerable. This includes people living with HIV/AIDS, pregnant women, mothers and their families, and those otherwise unable to access high quality health care.
WVU Institute for Community and Rural Health
WVU Institute for Community and Rural Health (WVU ICRH) continues to support scholarships for professional students in exchange for a commitment to practice in underserved areas of the state. We also are involved in health career programs for rural high school students via WV HSTA (Health Sciences and Technology Academy). In early April, we held our second annual WVU Rural Health Day for undergraduate students with an interest in medicine from colleges and universities throughout West Virginia and adjoining states.
